Along with the increase in athlete participation, the number and range of events in which the series is involved has been increasing over the years. The original series was purely oriented towards road racing. With the addition of an invitational track meet to the schedule in 1998, many of our athletes have begun to expand their competitive efforts into the track racing arena. While the series originated out of Vancouver, BC, we now include races throughout British Columbia to our schedule. Because of this increased scope of activities, the name of the series was changed in 2000 from the BC Road Racing Series to the WC Race Series.

In 2012, seated field events were also added to the series (seated shot put, discus, javelin and club throws).
